Eco-Committee
At St. Mary's we understand the importance of living sustainably and reducing our carbon footprint.
We are very proud to have an Eco-Committee consisting of children and staff who meet every Thursday after school. The Eco-Committee empowers pupils to participate and take up meaningful environmental activities and projects such as ensuring all classrooms have separate waste and recycling bins; routine litter picking sessions in and around school and giving families the opportunity to recycle clothes through the Bags 2 School scheme.
Each class has an allocated plot in our school allotment and we make our own compost from leaves, fruit and vegetable peelings we collect daily in school.
St. Mary's was previously awarded the Green Flag status by Eco-Schools.
