Welcome to Year 6 with
Welcome back to the new school year! What a great start we have had!
Firstly, thank you to all of your support by attending our parent’s meeting. The planners are going extremely well – please make sure you sign them weekly and ask your child what their weekly attendance is!
We also have the new rucksacks for Year 6 – I am sure you will agree they look incredibly smart and ready for school.
We are looking forward to our residential visit to The Pioneer Centre in October – the children will learn so much about themselves and each other and it will be a great opportunity to build and strengthen friendships and relationships.
Afternoons will be focussing on our topic ‘Hola Mexico!’ when the children will be learning about the country, history, customs, food and music of Mexico – sadly, the only thing we won’t be able to do is visit it first hand!
There will be an opportunity this half term for the children to cook and taste a variety of Mexican foods. We cannot wait!
Finally, the children have started the year brilliantly by coming into school at 8.30am and it has had such a positive effect. Please ensure your Year 6 pupil is in school for 8.30am with their bag, planner, reading book and any homework tasks they have been given.
